Our Story

Twisted Oak Urban Sawmill was born out of a passion for both woodworking and sustainability. The idea came from a simple yet profound realization: many trees in urban areas were being cut down and left to waste. We saw an opportunity to give those trees a second life. Our team at Twisted Oak Urban Sawmill focuses on harvesting urban timber, responsibly milling it, and turning it into stunning wood products that can be used in everything from custom furniture to architectural features.

Our founder, Stewart Smith, started the sawmill after noticing the amount of quality timber being discarded in urban areas. Driven by a love for craftsmanship and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment, Stewart founded Twisted Oak with the goal of creating a sustainable business that could both serve the local community and support environmentally conscious practices.
